New London County Food Hub Feasibility Study

A comprehensive, USDA funded study of the food system landscape in New London County, Connecticut was completed in September 2015. The study was undertaken to determine the optimal model for a food hub in New London County, the financial viability of such a food hub, and to understand the impact a hub might have on the health, wellness, agriculture, and the local economy. 

The report is a collaboration between United Way of Southeastern Connecticut,  the Office of Sustainability at Connecticut College, and the NLCFPC.

 

Nourishing Change:

The New London County Food System Baseline Report

A comprehensive examination of New London County’s food system, with analysis of food access, community health, and the childcare and school food environments in the region was completed in May 2013. The baseline report includes recommendations for policy and programming to improve the New London County Food System.

The report is a collaboration between United Way of Southeastern Connecticut and the NLCFPC.
